ABOUT PILATES

What is Pilates?...

In the simplest of terms, Pilates is a method of exercise.  This exercise method, that was created by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920’s, he originally called “Contrology”.  And that’s where the genius of his method really lies.  It is learning to control all the muscles of our body while balancing their strength and stretch.

It is a series of exercises that uses either spring-resistant apparatus or mat work that is given to you by a trained instructor who will help you learn the movements.

What does a Pilates session look like?

Your Pilates session will be a combination of equipment and mat work.  As an instructor, I guide you through the exercises and choose them according to what your body needs.  So each session is a practice and a progression of your previous one.
