The studio also offers a place for the kids to play so that you can keep your commitment to yourself. As a mom of two young children myself, I know how finding time to workout with kids can be a struggle.  The studio makes it easier for you to get in your workout as you are welcome to bring your child(ren) with you!  They can play, do homework, or read in the adjacent area for no additional charge.

PILATES INSTRUCTOR

From Dance to Pilates, Diane has always had a passion for movement. She received her B.A. in dance from Ball State University and then went on to dance, teach and choreograph around the Chicago area where she was born and raised.  Through dance, she discovered Pilates and after falling in love with it, went on to receive her Pilates certification in 2006 from the person who first introduced it to her, Dolly Kelepecz of D.K.Body Balancing.  In 2008, she moved to St. Louis where she began teaching Pilates at various studios around the area.  In 2018 she completed a bridge program with Peacock Pilates Principles.  Diane is dedicated to her continuing education and attends conferences or workshops every year with amazing instructors because she wants to always bring the best to her students.  She recently received a certificate of graduation from master instructor Kathryn Ross-Nash's Professional Pilates Advanced Teacher Training.  Diane is a member of the Authentic Pilates Union, of which she was co-chair of the Membership/Benefits Committee 2017-2019.

My Pilates Journey:

As a former dancer, physical strength was important for rehearsing and performing many hours a day.  Injuries from overuse and fatigue could be just a leap away.  Learning about Pilates from a former ballet instructor saved me from any major injuries and opened another avenue in my passion for movement.

While studying I was intrigued by Joseph Pilates’ publications, Your Health and Return to Life Through Contrology.  What stood out to me the most was his repetition that through the study and practice of his method of exercise, Joseph Pilates believed TRUE balance of body and mind could be attained.  He goes into great detail about how one cannot be afforded at the expense of the other and that with this balance we allow ourself the best possible home for TRUE health to live.

What is the balance of body and mind?  Joseph Pilates said, “It is the conscious control of all the muscular movements of the body.”  That is why I fell in love with Pilates.  I never enjoyed mindless workouts that I was half doing to get through and never really got anything out of.  I loved that it was intelligent and functional exercise.  I love how it consistently challenges me to find more from myself.  And as I do I realize how much STRONGER I am than the day before.   And this carries over into my every day life.

This is where my journey continues.  I am forever a student, as Pilates is a lifelong practice, tool, lifestyle…. Whatever you want to call it I am grateful for it!  Now, as a busy mom of two young boys, I need energy to keep up with them!  Feeling STRONG in my body and mind helps me be a better mom and wife.

There are definitely days when I understand what Joseph Pilates was saying when he said, “All in all we do not give our bodies the care that our well-being deserves.”  But each day I put my mind to deciding to practice my Pilates is a day that I feel STRONGER from the inside out.  So I keep on practicing because I know my TRUE STRENGTH is the next Pilates session away.

Come find YOUR strength at TRUE STRENGTH PILATES!

What I love about Pilates:

In the demand and sometimes chaos of life/motherhood, Pilates has helped me to stay healthy, strong, and sane! The precise movements within the system help me focus, keep my body feeling great, and challenge me.  I love how Pilates makes me feel inside and out!
